Join the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) Skills Bridge team, and the Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN) online on August 27 at 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. (EST) for for a special National Civility Month webinar on Building Stronger Workplaces Through Disability Inclusion.

This engaging 45-minute session introduces the Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN) and explores how disability-inclusive hiring practices can strengthen workplace culture, improve employee engagement, and support business success.

Led by Jennifer Hope, Director, Development and Capacity Building at ODEN, participants will:

  • Gain a better understanding of what disability looks like in Canada
  • Examine common myths and misconceptions that contribute to bias and employment barriers
  • Learn the value of disability-inclusive hiring
  • Learn from real-world examples of businesses that have benefited from creating a more inclusive workforce

This webinar is presented as part of the OCC’s recognition of National Civility Month 2026.

The Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN) is a province-wide organization that brings together businesses and employment service providers to increase employment opportunities for job seekers with disabilities.

ODEN works with businesses to:

  • Enhance their inclusion and diversity efforts with a focus on disability
  • Increase hiring and retention
  • Improve disability awareness and confidence
  • Link businesses to local job seekers
