Meet the panel:

Alberto Aguilar

Alberto is a seasoned founder with 8 years of experience in Hardware, Agtech, B2B/B2C SaaS, and logistics/transportation. His first company, YourDorm, serviced international students in finding their ideal homes, which got a small acquisition in 2018 at a loss. In 2019, Alberto co-founded Relomigo, a corporate relocation AI software, with former clients like Kinaxis, RCMP and Fellow.app, which Covid forced the company to shut down. He’s now the co-founder and CEO at Plantaform, an agtech company building smart indoor gardens using NASAs fogponics technology. Outside of his startup life, Alberto has a passion for automotive restoration, and actively attends F1 races around the world.

Tom Camps

Tom is a serial entrepreneur who has founded three startups, one of which became Canada’s largest public Wi-Fi operator and was sold in the summer of 2014. In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Tom has held various senior roles in large enterprises, including VP of Market Strategies, Chief Data Officer, and most recently, Director of AI. He splits his time between Vancouver and Ottawa and is currently preparing to launch his fourth startup.

Neil Schwartz

Neil is the practice lead of the firm’s Corporate Group and provides advice in all areas of corporate and commercial law. He supports entrepreneurs, professionals, and organizations in their pursuit of good governance, commercial success, and legal compliance. He can help with organizational planning, professional corporations, business acquisitions and sales, commercial leasing, financing, and other business issues.

Prior to joining Mann Lawyers, he worked as a corporate lawyer with a multinational firm and as in-house counsel at one of Canada’s largest crown corporations. Most recently, he helped build a Canadian startup into a leading national player in the immersive entertainment space.

Zoran Vranjkovic

Zoran is a Partner and the Director of Tax Services at Welch LLP, a regional public accounting firm based in Ottawa. Zoran’s focus is on providing tax, estate and succession planning to business owners, high net worth individuals and their families. His expertise includes trust and estate planning, implementing tax minimization and income splitting strategies, corporate reorganizations and structuring purchase and sale transactions.

Moderator: Susan Robbins Parsons

Susan is a seasoned CFO with over 25 years of experience in acquisitions, restructuring and company exits. As a CFO she has acquired 4 companies and sold 2. She now spends her time advising early-stage startups as a mentor for Invest Ottawa and has her own accounting firm offering vCFO and bookkeeping services.
